Amanda Homen D.P.T., B. Sc. Kin

Registered Physiotherapist

Amanda is a graduate from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at D’Youville College (2016). She previously completed her Bachelor of Science honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University (2012). She has since worked in the greater Toronto area and is eager to help her patients gain optimal functioning in their everyday lives.

Amanda has always had an interest in orthopaedics and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She completed her orthopaedic internships alongside a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual Physical Therapy (FCAMPT) and an Orthopedic certified specialist (OCS). She is a supporter of continuing education and an advocate of evidence-based practice; she is excited that her journey of learning as a physiotherapist is a lifelong process.

She has furthered her education in manual therapy and pelvic floor therapy by taking courses in these specialized fields. She treats everything from athletic injuries, back pain, pre/post surgical rehabilitation, to pre/post natal care, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence and prolapse.

Amanda enjoys educating health professionals as they embark on their journey of learning. She is an adjunct faculty member at D’Youville College, presenting material related to pelvic floor dysfunction to physiotherapy students and is a teaching assistant with Pelvic Health Solutions.  A strong advocate for community education, she will often participate in presentations to different groups educating on pelvic floor health.

In her spare time, Amanda appreciates time with family and friends. She believes in self-care and living a balanced lifestyle, promoting health and fitness in the prevention of injury and optimization of function.
