Integrated Dry Needling
- Dry needling is a technique used by physiotherapists to treat myofascial pain that uses a dry needle, without medication or injection, which is inserted into areas of a muscle known as trigger points (knots in a muscle). The goal of dry needling is to release these trigger points and relieve myofascial pain.
- Indications for dry needle application are identified during a thorough orthopedic assessment, and it is often used as part of a physical therapy regimen (manual therapy, exercise, and education).
