Do I need a Doctor’s referral?

No. A Doctor’s referral is not required to book an appointment. However, your insurance company may stipulate that they require a doctor’s referral note to reimburse you for the cost of the services, whether it be physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture or custom braces/orthotics.


What should I wear for physiotherapy?

Please bring shorts for lower extremity injuries and tank tops for any upper extremity injuries. If you have specific concerns regarding footwear or sports equipment, please bring those items with you as well.



How do I know if my Extended Health Care will cover me?

Contact your insurance provider or Human Resources Department to determine what extended health care benefits are available to you. You will want to know the annual maximum coverage, co-payments required, the need for a Doctors referral and calendar dates.

  • Extended Health Insurance Plans will usually cover all or a portion of the cost.
  • Motor Vehicle Insurance Plans cover injuries sustained in car accidents.
  • Disability Insurance will often pay for rehabilitation with prior approval.
  • WSIB covers work related injuries with a valid claim number assigned.
  • Personal Payment – VISA, MASTERCARD, Debit, Cash and Personal Cheque.

How long will my appointments be?

Treatment sessions vary depending on the individual and their condition. Typically the first visit will take 45 minutes to 1 hour, as it includes the assessment and treatment. Subsequent treatment sessions are approximately 45 minutes in length.


If my injury is work related what information do you require to arrange the billing directly to WSIB?

Please ensure that your workplace has reported the claim to WSIB or the claim will not be validated. We are unable to provide treatment to patients with claim numbers that are pending or claims that are being disputed. The information required by WSIB is outlined in our WSIB Information Form.

If my injury was caused by a motor vehicle accident (MVA), what information do I need to bring with me on my first visit?

We recognize that the paperwork following an automobile accident can be quite overwhelming, however, in order to get you started, we need the following:

  • Date of the Accident
  • Motor vehicle insurance information
  • Adjuster’s name and contact number
  • Claim / Policy Number
  • Extended Health Care information

The  MVA Information Form outlines the information required. You may complete this form online or by faxing it to us, you may also simply provide the information over the phone upon booking.

Please note that MVA legislation requires that we bill your Extended Health Care (EHC) – if you have a plan - prior to billing the automobile insurance.
